The PA, Israel, and Arab States: A Coordinated Effort to Silence Palestinian Voices

The Middle East Monitor further explores this dynamic, asserting that the PA was originally created to perform Israel’s “dirty work.” Since its establishment through the Oslo Accords, the PA has served as a buffer between Israel and the Palestinian population. Its security coordination with Israel has led to joint crackdowns on protests, arrests of activists, and suppression of political opposition. Rather than advancing Palestinian liberation, the PA often acts as an enforcer of Israeli policy, prioritizing its own survival and privileges over the national interest.

The Palestine Chronicle extends this critique to include the role of Arab governments. While publicly supporting the Palestinian cause, many Arab states have quietly aligned with Israeli interests. Some have actively lobbied against initiatives that would strengthen Palestinian sovereignty or rebuild Gaza on Palestinian terms. Their silence or complicity reflects broader regional interests that prioritize alliances with Israel and Western powers over genuine support for Palestinian rights.

Together, these forces form a system that undermines Palestinian self-determination and shields Israel from accountability.
