Three journalists, Ali Shuaib, Fatima Ftouni, and Mohammad Ftouni, were killed in southern Lebanon when an Israeli airstrike hit a clearly marked press vehicle near Jezzine while they were reporting. The attack has raised serious concerns about journalist safety, with press freedom groups warning of a growing pattern of deadly violence against media workers covering conflict zones.
This Month
Palestinian journalist Fatima Hassouna was killed on April 16, 2025, while documenting life in Gaza with unmatched bravery. She was the subject of the acclaimed documentary Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk, which was selected to screen at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. She even won an award at the 2026 Lumière Awards in France, celebrating her work. She was tragically killed with ten family members in an airstrike on April 16, 2025.
