Iranian officials have announced that thousands of journalists and media personnel will cover International Quds Day rallies across the country in 2026, highlighting the large-scale media presence expected at the annual demonstrations.
According to Ramezan Sharif, head of the central committee organizing Quds Day events, approximately 6,000 domestic and foreign journalists and photographers will report on the rallies taking place nationwide. The announcement was made during a press conference organized by the Islamic Propagation Coordination Council, which oversees preparations for the annual event.
Officials said that more than 200 foreign media representatives from international television networks, radio stations, and news agencies are expected to attend and report from various cities across Iran. These journalists will join thousands of Iranian reporters covering the demonstrations and related events.
International Quds Day is held annually on the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and typically draws large rallies in Iran and other countries. The demonstrations are intended to express solidarity with Palestinians and opposition to Israeli policies toward the Palestinian territories.
Sharif said the presence of a large number of journalists would ensure extensive domestic and international coverage of the rallies. Media teams are expected to report from major gathering points and public squares where participants assemble for marches and speeches.
The official also emphasized that the annual rallies aim to keep the issue of Palestine visible in international discourse. According to organizers, the event serves as a platform to highlight political and humanitarian concerns related to the Palestinian cause and to mobilize public support for it.
Each year, Quds Day demonstrations are held in numerous Iranian cities, often drawing large crowds and extensive media coverage. Iranian state media networks typically broadcast live coverage of the rallies, while international outlets provide additional reporting and analysis of the event and its political significance.
The participation of thousands of journalists reflects the scale of the event and the importance placed on media coverage by organizers. Observers note that the large media presence also underscores the broader geopolitical attention surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and regional political dynamics in the Middle East.
International Quds Day rallies are expected to take place in cities across Iran as well as in other parts of the world, with journalists documenting the demonstrations and reporting on reactions from participants, officials, and observers.
