Four Al Jazeera Journalists Assassinated in Targeted Israeli Airstrike
On August 10, 2025, an Israeli airstrike struck a tent designated for journalists just outside Gaza City’s main Al‑Shifa Hospital, assassinating Al Jazeera journalists Anas Al-Sharif, Mohammed Qreiqeh, Ibrahim Zaher, and Mohammed Noufal.
Al Jazeera Media Network and press freedom organizations condemned the strike as a “premeditated assassination”, alleging it was an intentional attack on journalism.
Starvation Threatens Gaza’s Last Journalists
Journalists still reporting from Gaza are enduring extreme hunger, with many describing dizziness, weakness, and illness as food supplies dwindle.

An award-winning Ukrainian war journalist who was tortured and killed while in Russian captivity is being honored after her death.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky posthumously awarded Victoria Roshchyna the Order of Freedom on Saturday, for her “unwavering belief that freedom will overcome everything.”
