The European Union Delegation in Moldova, in collaboration with the EU NEIGHBOURS East program, is inviting journalists from the Republic of Moldova to participate in a study visit to Brussels from 17 to 21 November 2025. The visit is strategically aligned with the EU Enlargement Forum on 18 November, giving participants the rare opportunity to follow crucial debates and policy discussions shaping the future of EU enlargement. The primary aim of this initiative is to strengthen the capacity of Moldovan media professionals by providing them with firsthand insight into how EU institutions function, how enlargement decisions are formed, and how Moldova’s evolving partnership with the EU is structured.
During the program, participating journalists will engage in meetings with officials from various EU institutions, representatives of Brussels-based media, and members of civil society organizations. These interactions are designed to give journalists a clearer understanding of policy processes and media landscapes at the European level. Before departure, participants will also take part in a one-day training session in Chisinau, focused on the institutional architecture of the EU, enlargement dynamics, and foreign policy decision-making. This preparatory stage ensures that attendees are equipped with essential background knowledge before engaging in the Brussels activities.
The EU will fully cover the costs of travel, accommodation, meals, and program participation. Interested journalists must submit their applications by 19 October 2025. The program continues a long-standing tradition of EU Delegation study visits, which have been organized since 2015 to build stronger ties between Moldovan media and European institutions.
This initiative reflects the EU’s commitment to fostering informed reporting on European affairs and encouraging greater public understanding of Moldova’s European path. By connecting Moldovan journalists with key EU actors, the program aims to enhance the quality of coverage on EU-Moldova relations, expand professional networks, and enable participants to bring informed perspectives to their audiences at home. It is both a learning platform and a strategic step in strengthening media engagement with the European project, creating a clearer bridge between Brussels and Chisinau.
