Israeli airstrike targeted a journalists’ tent at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip

The tweet from Quds News Network (QNN) reports that Israeli forces targeted the family of Mohammad Abu Nasser, the English editor-in-chief of QNN, in northern Gaza. The attack resulted in casualties among his family members. This incident highlights the ongoing risks faced by journalists and their families in conflict zones.

Quds News Network is a Palestinian youth news agency founded in 2011, staffed with volunteer correspondents across Palestine. The network gained widespread following on social media around 2015 through its rapid video coverage of escalations in the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, appealing particularly to young Palestinians. QNN states it is independent and funds itself through advertisements, aiming to expose the acts of the Israeli occupation. However, it has faced censorship and accusations of affiliations with militant groups.

The targeting of journalists and their families raises serious concerns about press freedom and the safety of media personnel in conflict areas. International organizations have condemned such attacks, emphasizing the need to protect journalists and uphold the freedom of the press.
