The stamp issuance formed part of a formal celebration of organized journalism’s half-century presence in Dakshina Kannada. Senior Superintendent of Posts for the Mangaluru division, Sudhakar Mallya, presided over the event. He remarked that postage stamps have long chronicled India’s history and said the “My Stamp” initiative allows institutions to memorialize milestones through customized stamp designs.
Mallya also used the occasion to emphasize that India Post is expanding beyond traditional mail services, rolling out offerings such as accident and health insurance and enhancing postal infrastructure to strengthen reach and public engagement.

The event was graced by Khadar Shah, the District Information Officer, and key media leaders, including Srinivas Nayak Indaje (President of DKWJA), P.B. Harish Rai (President of Mangaluru Press Club), Annu Mangalore, Rons Bantwal, and A.R. Subbiah Katte, among others.
