November 20, 2025The Voices – European Festival of Journalism and Media Freedom returns for its third edition in Florence from 10 to 12 March 2026, taking place at the prestigious Teatro del Maggio Musicale. The festival gathers journalists, media professionals, academics, and citizens to focus on the evolving role of journalism, disinformation, media literacy, and democratic participation in Europe’s changing information landscape.
Over three days, the festival will feature thought-provoking keynote talks, interactive workshops, film screenings, exhibitions, and networking opportunities. The previous editions took place in Florence and Zagreb, drawing more than 1,300 participants in 2024 and engaging communities in each host city through talks on AI in journalism, media sustainability, journalist safety, and digital wellbeing. The itinerant nature of the festival enables local and regional voices across Europe to participate and shape the agenda.
Hosted under the patronage of the European Broadcasting Union and organized by a consortium that includes the Center for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom, the European Federation of Journalists, and other key media-freedom organizations, Voices seeks to reinforce the principle that accurate information and media agency are foundational to democratic societies.
