September 10, 2025Armenia’s national journalists’ football team is preparing to compete in the European Journalists’ Football Championship, which will be held from September 11 to 14 in the Lithuanian resort city of Druskininkai. This year marks the twentieth edition of the tournament and the first time it will be staged under a new format that expands participation. A record fourteen teams are expected, with journalists from Armenia joining counterparts from Lithuania, Belarus, Latvia, Georgia, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Greece, Serbia, and several others.
The structure of the championship will feature an opening stage of group matches, after which the top eight teams will advance into a playoff round to fight for the title. Organizers include the Lithuanian Union of Journalists, the Lithuanian Sports Journalists’ Association, and the Lithuanian Football Federation, reflecting the broad support for the event within the host country’s media and sporting institutions.
For Armenia’s team, the journey has been made possible thanks to sponsorship from Yo Health, which has helped ensure their participation on the international stage. Supporters back home and abroad will be able to follow their matches and results through the team’s official Facebook page, as the players represent Armenian journalism in a spirited display of camaraderie and competition.
