A new documentary film explores the intertwining of personal love and political struggle for a Ukrainian journalist and an activist during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, portraying their relationship as both a source of resilience and a testament to everyday courage in wartime. The film, titled Love in a Time of War, examines how romance and resistance coalesce against the backdrop of ongoing conflict and societal upheaval.
The documentary follows the experiences of Ukrainian reporter and documentary subject Oksana Vasiuk — a journalist known for frontline coverage of the war — and her partner, civil rights activist Mykhailo Hlushchenko, who has been deeply involved in community mobilisation and humanitarian efforts since the invasion began.
