Al Jazeera Media Network has been recognized with two prestigious Peabody Awards for its compelling coverage of the Gaza conflict. The awards were announced on May 1, 2025, ahead of the 85th annual Peabody ceremony scheduled for June 1 in Los Angeles.
The first award was bestowed upon the Al Jazeera English Fault Lines documentary “The Night Won’t End” in the News & Documentary category. This film delves into the harrowing realities faced by Palestinian families during the initial 15 months of the war, highlighting the relentless bombing campaigns, the perilous nature of so-called “safe zones,” and the tragic death of five-year-old Hind Rajab. The documentary has previously garnered accolades, including the Royal Television Society Award for International Current Affairs and the Overseas Press Club prize for best international affairs documentary.
The second award recognized “One Day in Gaza,” a digital film from Al Jazeera English’s Close Up series, in the Interactive & Immersive category. This project compiles personal videos from ten Gaza residents, offering an intimate glimpse into their daily struggles and resilience amid ongoing conflict.
These honors underscore Al Jazeera’s commitment to shedding light on the human impact of war and amplifying voices from conflict zones. The network continues to produce in-depth journalism that brings global attention to the experiences of those affected by the Gaza conflict.
