The Digital News Publishers Association (DNPA) Conclave 2026 was held on 26 February 2026 in New Delhi, India, gathering senior media leaders, policymakers, technologists, and industry experts for a high‑level dialogue on the future of digital journalism. The event served as a key platform for discussing how artificial intelligence, regulatory developments, and platform dynamics are reshaping the global and Indian news ecosystem.
Under the theme “The New World Order of News: Rewriting the Playbook for a Resilient Digital Future,” participants explored the opportunities and challenges created by rapid digital transformation. Sessions focused on the impact of AI on newsroom workflows, sustainable revenue models for digital publishers, credibility and trust in an age of misinformation, and evolving policy frameworks governing news distribution and platform accountability.
A major emphasis was placed on trust, credibility, and quality content as essential pillars for journalism’s sustainability in a fragmented digital landscape. Speakers noted that audiences increasingly reward news organisations that demonstrate rigor, transparency, and accountability—especially as AI‑generated content becomes more prevalent.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted the importance of fair business practices in the digital ecosystem, urging digital platforms to share revenue fairly with news publishers and adopt stronger accountability and consent mechanisms for user‑generated and synthetic content. Other discussions examined India’s emerging digital public infrastructure and its implications for media access, verification, and civic engagement.
The conclave also featured contributions from industry figures who stressed the need for collaboration across stakeholders—publishers, regulators, technologists, and content creators—to build resilient digital news ecosystems that can thrive amid technological change and economic pressures.
