DNPA Conclave 2026
April 8, 2026The International Journalism Festival (IJF) 2026 will take place from 15–18 April 2026 in Perugia, Italy, marking the 20th edition of one of the world’s largest and most influential journalism events. The festival brings together journalists, media professionals, scholars, editors, and civic stakeholders from around the globe for free, open sessions across historic venues in Perugia’s town centre. All events are free to attend without registration and feature panels, workshops, safety clinics, and side events.
IJF serves as an inclusive platform for dialogue on the future of journalism, spotlighting key themes such as journalistic safety, misinformation, ethical reporting, artificial intelligence’s impact on newsrooms, media sustainability, investigative reporting, media freedom, and digital innovation. Sessions include press freedom discussions, training clinics for journalists under threat, and practical workshops on tools, verification, and newsroom strategy.
The programme will feature a mix of panel discussions, safety hubs, newsroom trainings, and public talks, reflecting a wide array of topics relevant to today’s media landscape. A festival hall known as the “Safety Hub” will run throughout the event, offering resources and support for journalists and editors, while side events such as community meet‑ups and specialist sessions on emerging skills (e.g., satellite data gathering for reporting) will supplement the core schedule.
IJF draws not only reporters and editors but also digital media innovators, media funders, legal experts, and representatives from global media organisations. Its hybrid format often includes live‑streaming options to reach audiences beyond Perugia, allowing global participation in panels and discussions.
