SADC Media Awards Competition 2026 for Journalists from Southern Africa
January 14, 2026The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) has opened nominations for the 2026 ICFJ Knight International Journalism Award, an annual honour recognising journalists whose pioneering reporting or media innovations have made significant impact in their countries or regions.
Eligible candidates include reporters, editors, technologists, and citizen journalists — particularly those working under difficult conditions — and individuals may nominate themselves if they meet the award’s criteria.
Nominations must be submitted by February 8, 2026. The winners will be honoured at the ICFJ Awards Dinner in November 2026 in Washington, D.C.. The award is supported by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and celebrates journalistic excellence and innovation worldwide.
