AIPS to honour veteran Olympic journalists at a special recognition ceremony in Milan

The International Sports Press Association (AIPS) will honour veteran Olympic journalists at a special ceremony scheduled for 5 February 2026 in Milan, Italy, held as part of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

The event recognises journalists who have covered ten or more Olympic Games, encompassing both summer and winter editions, celebrating their long-standing contributions to Olympic sports reporting.

Eligible journalists accredited as media representatives who will be present at Milano Cortina 2026 are invited to complete a participation form by 2 February 2026.

To qualify for recognition, journalists must have covered the Olympics in roles such as written press reporter, photographer, or TV/radio correspondent and may submit documentation (such as accreditation badges, published work, or photographs) as proof of their coverage.

AIPS previously recognised over 100 long-serving Olympic journalists at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, and the “Journalists on the Podium” initiative dates back to its first edition at the London 2012 Summer Olympics.
