May 25, 2025Al Jazeera English (AJE) has been recognized as Broadcaster of the Year at the 2025 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards, marking an impressive ninth consecutive year receiving this prestigious accolade.
This top honor spotlights AJE’s unwavering excellence in covering international affairs and a wide variety of themes. At the virtual awards ceremony held on 22 May, the network received a total of seven gold, nine silver, and eight bronze awards across its news and program offerings.
Acting Managing Director Issa Ali described the award as “a profound affirmation” from industry peers, highlighting the dedication of AJE’s journalists globally. He emphasized their role in delivering in-depth and accurate reporting—notably from Gaza—despite increasing threats to press freedom.
Highlighting AJE’s standout award-winning content:
- The Fault Lines documentary “The Night Won’t End”, which examines the human cost of war, took two gold awards in the International Affairs and Investigative Journalism categories. This brings its international awards tally to six for the year.
- Fault Lines also secured additional golds for “All That Remains” (Human Concerns) and “Children of the Darien Gap” (Human Rights), both of which have earned further international recognition.
This consistent recognition reflects Al Jazeera English’s commitment to compelling, impactful storytelling that resonates across borders and platforms.
