Hamza Al-Dahdouh, a 27-year-old Palestinian journalist and cameraman for Al Jazeera, was killed on January 7, 2024, in an Israeli drone strike in southern Gaza. He was traveling with colleague Mustafa Thuraya, a freelance videographer, when their vehicle was targeted while returning from an assignment documenting the aftermath of an Israeli airstrike on the Abu al-Naja family home in Al-Nasr village, northeast of Rafah. The strike also resulted in the death of their driver, Qusai Salem, and injured another journalist, Hazem Rajab.
